Elite Technical is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the Unmanned Aerial Systems business group of an innovative aerospace and defense company in their Columbus, MS facility location. The general purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate and monitor the scheduling, pricing, financial and technical performance of programs executed by our client for its end customers. Due to the nature of the work, any candidate wishing to be considered for this position must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a secret level government clearance.
General Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work directly with customer in regard to program status, addressing of needs, and resolution of issues.
Assist in the preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.
Assist in the development of budgets related to production programs.
Track and monitor costs related to programs; responsible for adherence to budget; P&L responsibility.
Identify and monitor risks, responsible for risk mitigation strategy.
Develop and ensure adherence to master plans and schedules; ensure projects/programs are completed on time.
Prepare management progress reports and presentations.
Assist, as requested, in the development of new business.
Act as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
Handle routine communication with the customer, bringing in senior management when required.
Education and Experience:
4 year engineering degree (mechanical or industrial preferred) or related discipline required.
Experience as a program manager on aerospace & defense programs.
Experience with unmanned systems is a big plus.
Ability to deliver effective results in schedule, cost, & risk management.
Knowledge of project management principles and tools for measuring project/program success.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be U.S. person as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR 120.15).
Certification through Project Management Institute (PMP or PgMP) or ability to complete certification PMP of PgMP certification within one year of hire.
