Elite Technical is seeking an embedded software engineer for a long-term position supporting a highly regarded defense client in Dulles, VA. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance, and the selected candidate will be participate in the entire embedded application software life cycle, including software design, implementation, integration, debugging, and documentation for new products and existing ones. This position requires a good knowledge base of engineering principles, theories and techniques, and will encompass a wide range of cross-discipline engineering problem resolutions.

Some specific responsibilities include:
- Developing embedded software applications utilizing C/C++
- Collaborating with system engineers to ensure design and implementation meets the customer requirements.
- Documenting software design and participate in design and code reviews
- Performing software/hardware integration during software development and unit testing.

Required Skills

- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or another related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional C/C++ language embedded software development experience required.
- Embedded Linux User and/or Kernel space experience
- Nucleus, MQX, or equivalent embedded RTOS experience.
- Experience designing and developing software that runs in a multi-tasking environment.
- Experience in hardware and software integration.
- Development of wireless communications solutions.
- Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

Desired Skills
- Ability to work productively with minimum supervision and ability to work well in team environments.
- Embedded Linux User and/or Kernel space experience
- Knowledge of Git revision control or equivalent.
- Knowledge of JIRA.
