Elite Technical is seeking an experienced systems engineer for a long term position with a stable, highly regarded defense contractor in north central New Jersey. Due to the nature of the position and federal government requirements, any candidate seeking consideration must be a U.S. Citizen with a CURRENT SECRET CLEARANCE.

Partial listing of typical job responsibilities:
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation activities in support of programs and development efforts.
- Ensure the logical and systemic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Perform requirements definition, derivation and allocation.
- Perform Cost, Risk, and Supportability and Effectiveness analyses for total systems (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance & disposal)
- Work in a highly dynamic hardware & software development and integration lab
- Support/lead technical proposals, including decomposition of customer requirements into a system architecture/design, technical writing, technical risk management, cost estimating, etc.

Required Skills

- Due to the nature of the position and federal government requirements, any candidate seeking consideration must be a U.S. Citizen with a CURRENT SECRET CLEARANCE.
- BS in a relevant engineering discipline or similar STEM-type major.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a systems engineer on defense programs.
- Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
- Experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Strong ability to convert customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
